HBO’s Game of Thrones returned for its fifth season and mentions of the program helped overthrow AMC’s The Walking Dead from the top spot. Game of Thrones reaches #1 for the first time since June 2014, while The Walking Dead drops out of #1 for the first time since January of this year. The Walking Dead has been #1 for 27 out of the past 30 weeks.

Netflix’s Daredevil had the most impressive week among programs to make the rankings. The new superhero drama – which recently premiered online – has gone from unranked to #6 in just a week and now gives Netflix three of the Top 20 mentioned programs along with Orange is the New Black (down three to #9) and House of Cards (up 3 to #16).

FOX’s Gotham retuned from its month long hiatus and also returned to our TOMAmeter after a two week absence. The popular drama, which is wrapping up its promising first season, reemerges at #9 this week.

Tough week for AMC as Better Call Saul, which recently closed out its first season, has dropped nine places to #20 and is in danger of falling out of the Top 20. Mad Men suffered a similar fate, as while  the season premiere was strong enough to make the program our 12th most mentioned program last week,it seems to have slipped the minds of our respondents this week .

As previously mentioned, Netflix saw three programs make the Top 20 – a first in the online services’ history but unfortunately not enough to beat ABC and CBS which had four programs apiece this week.

New programs in our Top 20: Netflix’s Daredevil (#6), FOX’s Gotham (#9) and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (#13).

No longer in our Top 20 this week: AMC’s Mad Men (previously #12), NBC’s Law and Order (previously #16) and ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (previously #18).
