Congratulations to the New England Patriots for defeating the Seattle Seahawks and AMC’s The Walking Dead. Mentions of NFL/Super Bowl in the week leading up to the game were enough to unseat the zombie drama for the first time since Gotham managed the coup back in September. With the mid-season premiere around the corner, look for The Walking Dead to reclaim the top spot as soon as next week.

ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder accomplished a difficult feat in its own right this past week. The popular broadcast drama returned from hiatus to jump up ten places to #9 this week while Scandal moved up nine spots to #7. The third head of the Thursday night tripleheader, Grey’s Anatomy, returned to the Top 20 settling at #15 this week.

FX’s American Horror Story is tending downward now that the program has aired its season finale. The cable drama fell eight places to #18 and is in danger of dropping out of the Top 20 next week.

The additions of Grey’s Anatomy and Marvel’s Agent Carter helped ABC tie CBS with four programs apiece in the Top 20. Right behind both networks was FOX which had a strong showing of three programs this week.

New programs in our Top 20: AMC’s Breaking Bad (#20), ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy (#15) and Marvel’s Agent Carter (#19).

No longer in our Top 20 this week: CBS’ Scorpion (previously #17), NBC’s Grimm (previously #18) and ABC’s Once Upon a Time (previously #20).

Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.

Here are your TOMAmeter results for January 26- February 1.
