After twelve consecutive weeks at #1, HBO’s Game of Thrones has finally been removed from the top spot by a program that is quite familiar with the position. AMC’s The Walking Dead jumped up a remarkable five places to replace the premium cable drama, which will be off air until next summer.

Also preforming well in the Top 20 this week was FOX’s 24: Live Another Day. Tension and mentions continued to grow, causing a six place increase leaving Jack or company at #9 this week.

Extant, the sci-fi thriller starring Halle Berry, is set to premiere on CBS this week. With a strong premiere in the Top 20 at #14, Extant might be in for a long run at the top, similar to last summer’s Under the Dome.

It’s a tough week for reality programming as NBC’s Americas Got Talent moved seven spots down to #16 while another reality competition show, ABC’s Rising Star, fell completely out of the Top 20.

CBS continues to dominate the summer as far as programming in our TOMAmeter goes. With additions like Extant and Criminal Minds, CBS came away with six programs in the Top 20, while the next closest networks only had two a piece (AMC, FOX, HBO, NBC).

New programs in our Top 20: CBS’ Extant (#14) and Criminal Minds (#18) and A&E’s Duck Dynasty (#20).

No longer in our Top 20 this week: CW’s Supernatural (previously #17), TNT’s Falling Skies (previously #18) and ABC’s Rising Star (#19).

Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.

Here are your TOMAmeter results for June 30 – July 6.
