After debuting in the Top 20 last week, FOX’s 24: Live Another Day has inched its way closer to the top spot this week moving up one place to #3. The only thing that stands in Jack Bauer’s way to the top are two of the strongest programs of the past year so look for a good battle in the coming weeks.
CBS saw two of its staple programs jump up in the rankings as Criminal Minds (#10) and CSI (#11) moved up by six and nine spots respectively. The increases in standings were the only real noticeable movement among programs previously in the Top 20.
After a week out of the Top 20, CW’s Supernatural has returned to #14 while another show with a supernatural concept, ABC’s Resurrection, fell five spots to #13. Mentions of Resurrection have gone down since its recent finale as Supernatural has used the power of a forthcoming finale to help move up in the rankings.
CBS made a strong push for becoming the most represented network in our TOMAmeter but unfortunately the Tiffany network fell one program appearance short of besting ABC which once again had six programs in the Top 20. NBC was represented by three programs with FOX trailing the pack with two.
New programs in our Top 20: CW’s Supernatural (#14), CBS’ Survivor (#18) and A&E’s Duck Dynasty (#19).
Falling out of our Top 20 this week: FOX’s Family Guy (previously #15), AMC’s Mad Men (previously #18) and History’s Vikings (previously #19).
Each week, Ipsos MediaCT TV Dailies seeks to find out what television shows have people talking. Collecting over 5,000 unaided responses among persons ages 13-64, TV Dailies produces a top of mind awareness meter (TOMAmeter) that details the 20 most spontaneously mentioned television shows.
Here are your TOMAmeter results for May 5-11.
