The Grammy Awards sped past the competition on its way to #2 in this week’s rankings after a buzzworthy week following the proceedings. Kanye West’s antics were one of the reasons the award show moved up seven places this week.
The best increase in the standings however goes to AMC’s Better Call Saul. After a two night premiere with much fanfare kicked off last week, Better Call Saul moved up eleven spots this week where it finally settled at #6. The eleven place increase is the highest we have seen since ABC’s How to Get Away with Murder moved up thirteen places back in December.
FOX’s American Idol is in full Hollywood mode and the judges have been sending off singers in droves. As they whittle down the crowd to see who is left standing, mentions of the program grew by five places to #15.
Mentions of NFL/Super Bowl, on the other hand, have diminished since the Patriots knocked off Seattle more than two weeks ago. A steep ten standing drop has NFL/Super Bowl falling to #13 this week. As the NFL/Super Bowl teeters on the brink of missing the cut, one award show is climbing the charts. This week, The Oscars, which just missed the final cut, will be airing its 87th iteration of the popular award show, so look for mentions to be strong enough to propel the show into the Top 20 next week.
With only one addition this week, ABC was able to tie CBS as the most represented network in the Top 20. With five programs apiece, both CBS and ABC outpaced Fox which had three programs make the list
