NBC’s America’s Got Talent returned for its 8th season this past week and mentions of the program propelled it from outside the Top 20 all the way up to #10. Also returning to television and the TOMAmeter was ABC’s The Bachelorette, which was our 19th most mentioned program this week.
Netflix’s Orange is the New Black continues to climb in our rankings. After debuting in the Top 20 at #20 two weeks ago, the show moved up four places to #16 last week and is now up a remarkable ten spots to #6. With season 2 set to premiere on June 6th, look for the dramedy to bump its way into the Top 5.
After airing the finale of the first part of the final season, AMC’s Mad Men moved into the Top 20 at #14. HBO’s True Blood is also coming to an end at the conclusion of this season. The closer we get to the season premiere, the more buzz surrounds the program which ended up at #17 in our Top 20 this week.
Both CBS and FOX finished with four programs in the Top 20 while NBC and AMC had three apiece. Usual giant ABC finished with only two of the Top 20 most mentioned programs after a number of programs fell out of the rankings this week.
Six new programs in our Top 20 were: NBC’s America’s Got Talent (#10), AMC’s Mad Men (#14), Showtime’s Penny Dreadful (#15), HBO’s True Blood (#17), ABC’s The Bachelorette (#19) and FOX’s Bones (#20).
Falling out of our Top 20 this week: ABC’s Dancing with the Stars (previously #8), Once Upon a Time (previously #14) and Grey’s Anatomy (previously #18); CBS’ Criminal Minds (previously #12) and Survivor (previously #15) and CW’s Supernatural (previously #17).
