After a weekend of several upsets and many teams failing to clinch a berth into NCAA’s Sweet 16, it was ABC’s Scandal that was able to stave off “elimination” this week. After threatening to fall from the Top 20, Scandal made a surge this week moving up from the 20th spot last week to become the 7th most mentioned show this week.
Speaking of ABC, let’s talk about Dancing With the Stars. Fresh off the first episode of its 18th season last week, the exciting and star-studded show entered the TOMAmeter for the first time since last season, debuting at #10. Will the celebrities’ smooth dance moves be enough to move DWTS to the top of the charts?
But it wasn’t all good news this week for ABC as Modern Family dropped 6 spots to #17. The biggest drop-off this week, however, was HBO’s True Detective which was out of sight and out of mind on this week’s TOMAmeter. After ending its 8 episode arc, the runaway hit has dropped off the charts after sitting at #8 last week.
Along the same lines, Netflix hit House of Cards seems to have lost its “binge” hype, remaining at #16 for the second consecutive week. Will Frank Underwood and company be out of the Top 20 next week and weeks to come? Stay tuned.
