The games are over and the athletes have left Sochi. With that the Olympics has ceded the #1 spot to AMC’s The Walking Dead which has been holding steady at #2 for the past four weeks.
The week leading up to the Oscars/Academy Awards was a strong one as the award show, which aired this past Sunday, went from outside the Top 20 all the way up to #4.
Shakira and Usher returned to the panel of judges this past week and NBC’s The Voice saw the highest climb among programs previously in the Top 20. The singing competition moved up from #17 last week to #8 this week, an increase of 9 places.
Also preforming well was ABC’s Scandal which returned from hiatus this past week and moved up 7 spots to #9.
Season 2 of History’s historical drama Vikings kicked off last week and mentions of the show were strong enough to bump it up to #20, just edging out ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.
New to our Top 20 this week were: The Oscars/Academy Awards (#4), CBS’ Survivor (#15) and History’s Vikings (#20).
Falling out of our Top 20 this week were: FOX’s Family Guy (#14), CBS’ CSI (#18) and FOX’s Almost Human (#20).
